WITH REGARDS TO THE 96+ RIDEOUT AT THE MAYDAY MOD WEEKENDER 2011
IS TO KEEP THE JUSTICE CAMPAIG(HILLSBORO) IN
THE PUBLIC EYE AND ITS 96+ BECAUSE MORE THAN THAT AMOUNT DIED
BECAUSE OF THAT TRAGEDY, WE HOPE TO RIDE FROM
ANFIELD THROUGH INTO TOWN WERE THERE WILL BE A SHOWING OF QUADROPHENIA
ON THE BIG SCREEN AT THE ODEON(LPOOL1)
THEN AFTER THAT WE WILL ALL GO ROUND TO THE CAVERN CLUB ,

Northern Soul night on the 30th April 2010 @ 'the brickcroft social club' High Street Rochdale OL12 0NS
there are 3 great DJs playing a wide range of northern soul and some ska music to entertain the crowds.
One of the Djs is Vinyl Bob. Vinyl Bob is one of the DJs who regularly plays the ritz in brighouse..all on seriously expensive rare vinyl. Its in a Social club so that means cheap beer and a cheap night out. Entry is pay on the door at £5
SKA night.
this will be on the 15th May @ the Ukrainian club 15 Mere Street Rochdale. Great Ska DJ is booked as well as a fantastic 10 piece SKA band called Ska face from Blackpool. MODROPHONIC : HERE'S WHAT OUR IDEAS ARE,
AND WHAT WE HAVE BEEN TELLING PEOPLE.
Hi Lads
Just to let you know that the mods may-day weekender will take place in
The Cavern Club on Saturday April 30th & Sunday May 1st 2011.
I know the first one got pulled and put a lot of people out because of it.
The people behind that one have nothing to do with this one because
Modrophonic 2011 is now a charity event and the people who will put this
together will do it on a none profit basis and give their time for free.
The deal with The cavern breaks down like this, if we sold all 350 weekender
tickets we get 2 thirds of the takings The Cavern keep 1 third which leaves us
with around £3000 to book 8 bands and a couple of DJs for both nights.
We plan to use the money to cover from 6pm to 2am mixing up 4 bands and
the DJs during that period on each of the two nights.
The period from 12pm to 6pm we hope to cover with any other money we can
raise from outside interest's this will then give us the chance to run two 14
hour days from what we hope to bring in and use on more and more bands.
We have asked The Cavern to wave their 1 third of ticket sales, because we
want any extra money we can raise from this event to go to charity their reply
was, if will can fill the room on both nights with 200 people or more they will
look at it again.
We will price the tickets like this Sat £10 Sun £10 Weekend £15 we are also
looking at a charity screening of Quadrophenia this will take place at 1 in
Liverpool 1 on the Sunday afternoon, there are also plans for a ride-out this
will be called the 96 ride-out, the name is there to help keep the Hillsborough
familie's in the media and we hope to run this from Stanley park to the venue.
This is not a football thing most of us are blues and most of us where at the
other game that day, the idea and thinking behind this is to support what our
people have been looking for all this time and that is justice.
Most of what is wrote above are still only ideas if you feel you would like to
be a part of what we are doing with more or better ideas your imput will be
most welcome at the "pooling of minds meet" in the Rat & Parrot pub Queens
Square at 8pm on Tuesday 20th April, where we hope to have a plan in place
to finally bring Liverpool in line with other large cities in our country by having
an annual mod weekender.
If you are in a band and would like to play at the event the rules are simple we
have a maximum, if all tickets are sold that works out at £300 per band total
£2400 that will leave us with £600 for DJs and other stuff like flyers, the event
is for charity so remember we don't get one penny for our time.
If all tickets are not sold then we will need to look at dropping a band or two.
Tribute mod bands is what we want to fill the bill with first original bands we
will look at later in the year, if we can get more money into the event we would
love to add more bands.
We hope the new mod stage at this years Mathew Street Festival will be
named "Modrophonic" after the charity mod weekender, we also plan a couple
of one day events under the same banner to run during this year on the build
up to the big one that is…... Modrophonic Mayday Weekender 2011.
It's your city, it's your event, help shape it into the best it can be.
